Baja sae gearbox

2022-present

Purpose:

I designed the gearbox for my school’s Baja SAE team, working alongside my teammate, Kate McCurley. Together, we developed and coded calculations to determine the optimal gearbox ratio and size for the vehicle. Once the design was finalized, we completed the manufacturing process using a Hurco CNC Milling Machine, ensuring precision and performance for the final product.

ANALYSIS:

In order to ensure structural integrity of the gearbox, hand-calculations and FEA were done. This is the link to my white paper.
